RBI approves appointment of Sashidhar Jagdishan as HDFC CEO

Sashidhar Jagdishan will take over as new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HDFC Bank Ltd.

 

 

According to media reports, the Reserve Bank of India has approved Jagdishan's appointment. He will replace Aditya Puri, who is set to retire by October.

 

Currently, Jagdishan is the Group Head & Change Agent of the bank. He overlooks the functions of Finance, Human Resources, Legal & Secretarial, Administration, Infrastructure, Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility.

 

Jagdishan has nearly 29 years of experience. He has pursued his graduation in Science with a specialization in Physics and holds a Master’s degree in Economics of Money, Banking & Finance.

 

He is a Chartered Accountant by profession and joined HDFC bank in 1996 as a Manager in the Finance function.
